Every year between the months of June and October, the Smith family faces a season of birthday frenzy. Our boys were born 2 years and three weeks apart from one another. Another way of saying that is that Justin and I get no rest at all to recover from Jude's birthday before launching into Noah's. This year it was particularly difficult since we were planning Jude's at Rosemeade Rainforest Aquatic Complex which required lots of preparation (and we aren't great at that apparently . . .). So as you can probably imagine, I spent nearly every evening of the first three weeks of July drawing and painting lego characters on a large strip of floor covering paper left over from our home renovations in 2011.
No sane person will want to look at all of these, but since I took the time to meticulously document the creation of Jude's illustrations, banners, and cake props, I might as well put them here for safe-keeping.
Highlights - photo-booths are awesome!
Of course, as is always the case, my father-in-law out did himself again and blew us all away with a perfect lego superman photobooth / face cutout. All of the kids loved it and I can assure you that Jude and Noah still play with it on a nightly basis. I'm surprised it isn't shredded considering how much playtime that guy has seen. . .
